If you’re looking for the perfect dog then a beagle can fit the bill. Beagles are cute and have an excellent temperament. They are a great dog if you have children, are smart and fairly easy to train. Beagles are members of the hound family and have been used for tracking purposes. Their sense of smell is incredible which will make them prone to a bit of howling. If you live in an area with any wildlife your beagle will smell it. They were then bred with local breeds to be used for hunting rabbits and other animals. Henry the VII kept Glove beagles and Queen Elizabeth the first kept Pocket beagles. These dogs were only Nine inches high, thought small enough to keep in a pocket.

Beagles have been providing people with companionship for centuries. They are used today both for tracking, hunting and household friends.
