Bloodhound dogs are best walked on a leash. They are tracking dog and have an incredible ability to pick up a scent. Once they have it they are off and it is difficult to get them to stop. It will be hard enough on a leash let alone off.

If you are interested in owning a bloodhound then they are quite easy to find. You will likely go through a breeder. They will have a good selection of bloodhound puppies for sale and adult dogs. They will likely be registered and have their papers as well. These are expensive but some think worth it.

A Bloodhound is a great protector. The police use them for missing persons and to track thieves. It has been said that thieves quite often give up rather than be chased down by a bloodhound. They aren’t vicious at all but their size makes them quite intimidating.
