Dog Beds

Humans need a good nights sleep to function properly. So the same should be given for our dogs. Whether or not to purchase a dog bed remains a topic of debate for many dog owners. Most dogs are more than happy sharing their bed with their owners. If you don’t mind the frequent linen washing that this requires then this is fine. However, dogs can be incredible bed hogs. A 70 pound dog can easily occupy more space then a 200 pound man. Some of us at this point decide it is time for a Dog bed.

Dog beds vary of course according to the size of dogs. They also vary in style. Usually a plain plastic dog bed and some linen are enough to keep you dog in all the creature comforts it needs. You should get your dog used to using a bed as soon as possible. Once they get into the habit of sleeping with you, it will be very hard to break.

If your dog is older and the joints are starting to stiffen with age, a heated dog bed may do the trick. This will allow them to sleep in more comfort and help to keep the joints much more flexible.

If the dog has arthritis or other health issues then an orthopedic dog bed may be a good idea. This will allow them to sleep in comfort and avoid doing further damage to their bones and joints.

Many of us today are on a budget. This however does not stop us from wanting to spoil our dogs. If cost is an issue then you may want to consider a discount dog bed. Pet supply stores frequently have sales on. You can pick up some high quality low costs bargains for you furry family member.

On the other side of the coin, some of us want our pooches to live in the lap of luxury. This means designer dog beds for many of our K-9 friends. Sometimes we just want something cute that reflects our dog’s personality. There are many small, large and cute dog beds designed to do this.

Dog beds are something that is meant for the dog to sleep on comfortably. However it has quickly turned into a way to spoil our pets further. Which ever dog bed you choose, just make sure you dog is comfortable. That is the most important thing.
